Human Resources Manager - El Monte, CA

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily HR operations and support the HR team
• Partner with the HR Director and company leadership on HR programs and initiatives
• Manage employee relations, including investigations, discipline, performance issues, and terminations
• Oversee recruiting, pre-employment screening, onboarding, and employee records
• Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, DOT requirements, and union agreements
• Manage HR programs for compensation, benefits, leave, training, and employee engagement
• Support performance reviews, employee development, and retention initiatives
• Manage union relations, grievances, and CBA compliance
• Provide HR guidance to managers and employees on sensitive and complex issues

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Human Resources management experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• Bilingual in Japanese, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, or another foreign language is a strong plus
• Willingness to travel for business as needed
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experienced with ADP Workforce Now or other HRIS systems
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR practices, and compliance requirements
• Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
