EHS Specialist

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and enforce health and safety policies, procedures, and programs aligned with local, state, federal, and industry regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
• Incorporate customer site-specific safety requirements, rules, tribal knowledge, and best practices into all documentation, risk assessments, and operational protocols.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify hazards in workplace environments, equipment, and processes.
• Perform on-site inspections, hazard evaluations, and environmental impact assessments.
• Recommend corrective actions, equipment upgrades, or process changes to eliminate or minimize risks, including those related to ergonomics, chemical handling, and emergency preparedness.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, auditing techniques, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, safety software like iAuditor or Enablon).
• Ability to handle emergencies calmly and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Willingness to travel, physical ability to conduct site inspections, and a commitment to ethical practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or NEBOSH Diploma are highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years in health and safety roles.
• Proven track record in high-risk environments (e.g., manufacturing, construction, or consulting) and familiarity with safety management systems like ISO 45001 preferred.
