Manager/Director, Controller - Houston, TX

Responsibilities

• Supervise monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting activities.
• Direct external financial reporting and disclosure processes.
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversee tax compliance and manage relationships with tax consultants.
• Implement accounting treatments following US GAAP, Japanese GAAP, and company policies.
• Maintain and improve internal control systems.
• Lead the selection and management of accounting advisory firms.
• Provide accounting expertise for new business transactions and initiatives.
• Manage accounting system implementations or upgrades and coordinate consolidated reporting with subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline with an active CPA
• certification.
• Over 10 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Extensive expertise in US GAAP and handling complex accounting matters.
• Proven leadership in financial reporting, internal controls, and closing procedures.
• Strong proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
• Preferred experience in multinational or complex corporate settings.
• Familiarity with ERP systems like Diva, OneStream, SAP, and experience in the
• energy sector or cross-cultural reporting is a plus.
