Senior Accountant- Torrance, CA

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the accounting manager/controller, provide financial analytical assistance and oversight to accounting functions.
• Support daily inventory cycle count and semi and annual physical inventory count procedures, also administer equipment inventory
• Prepare financial information or disclosures for the annual audit.
• Reconciliation of sub-Ledgers and general Ledger account balances for Inventory, A/R, A/P, etc. as well as monthly petty cash and bank reconciliation
• Perform monthly analysis of on hand and slow-moving inventories, cost variance analysis as well as analysis of freight charges.
• Support with compliance matters such as business license renewals, sales tax filings, annual report filings, and census reporting.
• Back up/support the accounting associates (AP and AR)
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 5 years' related work experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency in PC skills especially Excel
• Experience with ERP
• Experience in Account Receivable for day-to-day operations is a huge plus.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and proven experience meeting deadlines
• Available to work on weekend or holiday when necessary.
• Strong written, verbal and listening skills with the ability to make customers feel as though they have been heard and that their input, concerns and suggestions are valued and will be taken seriously
• Self-motivated and self-directed, yet works well as part of a team.
• Bilingual in English and Japanese is a plus, but not required.
