[Working Abroad In Japan] Technical Sales for Semicon *Entry*

Our client, a manufacturing company in the semiconductor/electronics industry, is currently searching for Japanese bilingual candidates! The company is located in San Jose, however the position will require the candidate to work abroad in Japan for 1-3 years for training purposes (ideally two years). After the 1-3 years training, the candidate will be transferred back to work at the office in San Jose, CA. The position is a Technical Sales role and Japanese business level is required.

• Location: Ibaraki Prefecture near Tokyo, Japan & San Jose, CA (San Francisco Bay Area)

• Salary: Japan ($45k + relocation/living fees); San Jose ($70k-80k DOE)

Job Duties:

Ibaraki, JP:

• Working at the manufacturing facilities and also taking on regular technical sales duties while supporting the US Sales location.
• Translation of sales documents and contracts both in English and Japanese
• Working in Japan office not just translating, but becoming familiar with company products and learning about how to better sell their products upon return to Bay Area
• Communicating between the Japan office and San Jose office (Sufficient training will be provided)
• Analyze and solve any problems or inquiries that customers have. Handling any complaints regarding existing products in a professional manner, then providing internal members with suggestions on formula or process changes to improve device

San Jose, CA:

• Upon return, business development, handling existing and potential client’s requests, and helping to raise the sales in the immediate area
• Provide technological support to existing customers, and continuing to build successful and long-lasting relationships with them
• Manage daily communication between customers as well as all divisions of company including HQ/Japan offices
• Generate monthly sales reports, collect data from customers, and review/give analysis to management

Qualifications:

• Japanese/English bilingual skills (Business level is a MUST). Must be able to relocate to office in Japan for a period of around 1-3 years
• Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering a plus
• Detail oriented, good multi-tasker, able to work independently, and work responsibly/effectively
