Responsibilities
- Conducting hiring effort for all exempt and nonexempt employees for all offices; conducting new-employee orientations; writeing job descriptions, placing advertisements, interviewing candidates for positions, training managers for interviews and processing background checks
- Identifing federal and states legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources function. Developing and maintaining various human resources plans, policies and procedures for all company personnel; preparing and maintaining employee handbook and policies and procedures manual (e.g. safety and health program)
- Establishing and maintaining compensation programs; developing, designing and implementsing performance evaluation program, pay policies and structures and various bonus programs, analyzeing total compensation and evaluateing the program for continuous quality improvement.
- Assisting Japanese expat employees with visa applications, visa renewals, setting up bank accounts, SSN applications, housing search and management of passport/visa/I94 expirations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Three years of office work experience. Some knowledge of human resources management and federal/state (California and New York) employment regulations is a plus.
- English fluency with strong vebal and written communication skills.
- Conversational Japanese. Japanese reading skill is a plus.
- Strong skills to work with numbers and digital work tools including Excel and Word.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, multi-tasking and organizational skills. Thorough and detailed oriented. Positive attitude, flexibility and adaptability.
